About Dr. Tammy Burrell

Originally from Southern California, Dr. Tammy Burrell earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology from California State University, Dominguez Hills, and went on to graduate cum laude with her Doctor of Optometry degree from Southern California College of Optometry at Marshall B. Ketchum University, where she was recognized by the Beta Sigma Kappa Honor Society.

Dr. Burrell began her career by establishing a private practice in Torrance, California, where she developed a loyal patient base across two locations. Her dedication to optometry has since taken her throughout the Western United States, with over two decades of experience focused on senior care. She has worked extensively in a group ophthalmology setting as well as within an interdisciplinary healthcare team, collaborating with primary care providers and specialists to deliver integrated eye care. Her practice journey has included Arizona, Colorado and Whidbey Island, before she ultimately made her home in the South Puget Sound area.

Dr. Burrellā€™s passion for optometry began in her childhood after being introduced to the field due to her special vision needs. Early exposure to vision correction sparked her lifelong curiosity about eye care, leading her to a career focused on supporting her patientsā€™ vision at all stages of life. Today, she specializes in managing degenerative eye conditions, with a focus on glaucoma and dry eye, and enjoys providing specialty contact lens fittings. Additionally, she works closely with ophthalmologists to co-manage surgical cases.

Outside of her professional life, Dr. Burrell enjoys spending time with family, watching classic movies, and baking. Sheā€™s also an enthusiast of outdoor activities like hiking and biking, as well as an avid traveler who loves exploring new destinations.
